These encaustic images are one-of-a-kind mixed-media pieces. Most feature archival pigment prints on photo rag, Japanese mulberry paper or silk organza which are mounted on birch panels and fused with layers of encaustic medium (melted beeswax and Damar resin). Most images are either hand colored or accented with oil or pastels, and various materials and techniques are used to add surface texture. Often, there are multiple images in a single piece. Occasionally, there are none: I just use encaustic paint and mixed media.
